Watch Bob Marley Perform "I Shot the Sheriff" Back in the 70s

This dude is a legend. Deal with it.

Aw yeah, baby. It's Friday. The weekend is here! Or will be here soon! What are you doing right now? Going to get a cup of coffee to kick start the rest of your afternoon? Yeah, me too. It's been a pretty lackadaisical week on the internet—there have been no llamas and no dresses—which, hey, that's a pretty good thing. Sometimes you need to step back and take a break from the whole existence that is #content. You know, have a conversation with the person sitting next to you that isn't through IM.

What do you guys think Bob Marley would have to say about the world in which we've found ourselves? He'd probably have some thoughts. I'm not going to pretend to know them. But I'd imagine they would be quite wise. The influential singer would've turned 70-years-old this past month, which is a bit crazy to think about. Sure, as a stoned college kid reading this, your primary interaction with Bob Marley is probably your weed dealer (who we'll call Mitch) having a giant poster of him hanging on his wall and every time you pick up weed, Mitch says something like, "One love, man." It's annoying, and you probably have some pre-determined opinions about Bob Marley because of this regular interaction. But the fact remains that this dude is one of the most significant musicians of the last 40 years. His legacy has grown beyond what he probably ever could imagine, and when that happens, it's important for us—meaning humanity—to recognize legends. Below, Noisey is excited to premiere a video of Bob Marley performing "I Shot the Sheriff" from his recently released live album Easy Skanking in Boston '78. Watch the video and buy it here.
