Antony & The Johnsons' entire career always seems to me like one long attempt to replicate the blue opera-singing alien bit from The Fifth Element. Here, Antony yet again plays perfectly into my conceit by racking up an entire album of covers of his own songs, operatically re-recorded with the Danish national chamber orchestra. Across it, Big Tony Goose Throat creates a tableau of hyper-emotion so vast in scope and scale, you won't want to leave it near any statues of the Virgin Mary in case they start weeping blood.
