We Are Pretty Sure Weed Was Involved in PALS New Video 'Kids'

The Auckland three piece perfectly capture the sound of three friends writing guitar pop melodies while stoned.

Auckland three-piece Pals released their scuzzy debut EP back in August 2014. Recorded in an empty parking garage just outside the city, Pals4Eva perfectly captured the sound of three friends writing guitar pop melodies while stoned.

Recently the band have been sitting on their hands as they wait patiently for guitarist Nick to return from Berlin so that they can finish their debut album.

In the meantime they’ve just released the video for “Kids” the second single from the EP. There’s nothing confirmed but we are pretty sure weed was involved in the creative process.

Bassist Jack fills us in.

Noisey: Have you asked Nick to bring back any duty free?
Jack: A 50g, 3 bottles of assorted liquors, and maybe a Toblerone if we're lucky.

There’s a cool video of Dutch band ADAM coming while singing. Is the video for “Kids” the NZ equivalent?
Nah, we are wankers but we only come on camera for money nowadays. The New Zealand equivalent of that awesome video is probably either Th' Dudes' "Bliss" or The Dobbo's - "Loyal".

Do you have a favourite scene or character from Kids?
Has it aged well? I saw it years back and became entranced by Chloe Sevigny, but was mainly creeped out by idea of Larry Williams sitting behind the camera, having a wank on set to young actors, blerrugh.
