Watch Kareem Burrell's Ini Kamoze Remix Video

Jamaican dancehall heavyweights collide

During our time in Jamaica making Noisey Jamaica 2, we met so many new artists and producers that it was hard to put them all in the series. One of these people is Kareem Burrell, who we met while filming with Jesse Royal. Kareem is a second-generation producer following in the footsteps of his father, Philip Fatis Burrell, a Jamaican digital dancehall pioneer who started a label called Xterminator Productions in the late 80s and worked with artists like Sizzla and Luciano. In 1994, Kareem’s father produced the track “Hill And Gully Ride” by Ini Kamoze, and this new animated video features a remix of the song. It's also the first release from a new project, Living Heart 2, that sees Kareem remixing his father’s work.

Its predecessor, Living Heart, Vol. 1 (Xterminator 25th Anniversary), is now available on Itunes, and Ini Kamoze's "Hill & Gully" remix will be available on 11/25.
