Premiere: Watch Staunch Nation's New Video for "Pirates"

Before they head out on the road in support of their new tape "Finesse", the Sydney boys give us a guide to all things Staunch Nation.

Staunch Nation don’t care for Tony Abbot’s Team Australia.

For one it’s doesn’t include driving dodgem cars after drinking half a case of cheap Rio Bravo beer. Besides, you cannot just join teams. You have to be picked. The Sydney hip hop troupe don’t want to be picked by Abbot or anyone in a suit so they’ve formed their own party - Staunch Australia. A place where anyone who can identify with sailing and partying is welcomed with a warm hug and a cold beer.

With shows to support their upcoming mix tape Finesse which is about to blast from Lexus sub woofers across the country, the boys gave us a run down of all things Staunch Nation.

St Peters Fruit World

A good place to stock up on baba ghanoush, garlic dip, tinned Bushells (for afternoon Irish coffees) and then a quick pop over to Porters Liquor for a case of Rio Bravo’s before heading back to Staunch Nation HQ. *S.P.F.W also sponsors our airhorns for our shows - $6 per horn in the party and recreation section.

Staunch Nation HQ District 57 This is where the magic happens. We ride on cone clouds and lubricate our minds before and during the onslaught. Every emotion is felt here; joy, anger, sadness. It's like Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory except we spend all of our time in the psychedelic tunnel. At the end of each session we pop on some tunes and sweat it out with a dance.

Luna Park 'Luna City' is a post-Staunch investment / community development project we have planed for 2020.

Rushcutters Bay Marina The birthplace of our new clip. Whenever that inner-city stress gets to our heads we take time out on our yacht, the Mag. We have some fish and chippies at the Yacht Club than head to the cabin for snow cones and a speed nap.

The Big Merino

When Staunch Nation take a Murray’s Red Carpet bus up to Canberra to visit GC's dad, a few convincing green presents to the driver won't go astray when asking for a quick stop off to Goulburn. Local bakery for a spinach and feta pie, and 7/11 across the road for slushies. While savouring slushy-induced brain freezes we like to toke on a quick pepperette and consider the mighty symbolism of Merino, and how he reminds us of our goals to be included in the history books.

Dodgem Cars, Level 3, Galaxy World, Chinatown

We filmed our smash hit "Mainies" in this space and haven’t stopped going since. The guy working there always lets us play our music on the loud speakers and there are a whole range of other great games to have fun with! Bunnings Fuck independent hardware stores. At Bunnings we can get whatever we need, whenever we need it. Even a free sausage sizzle! All that’s missing is a Liquorland for some quick Coronas and lime!

The stage This is our true home. The energy of the lights, the crowd, the stardom! It’s a magical chemistry. A Staunch Nation live 'on-stage' experience is going to get you guys turned up in a wild patriotic fervour. Sheilas and fellas alike are all there to feel Ray's spirit and allow it to vibrate their body. And guess what?? Our national tour is coming up starting this month.

Sydney Olympic Park Segway Tours This isn't regular but we did our training for the upcoming 'Finesse - Last Time Farewell' coming up where we have onstage segways and head microphones - these shows are gonna fuckin’ blow your minds!!!

Jap World Spares, Princes Highway This is the best store on the Princes Highway and just a short walk from District 57. Looking for that rare panel, rims or interior decorations? It’s all there!
