You Beauty Do Normcore

If you like pub rock operas about a 90s NRL legends facing up to failure you’re in for a treat.

In their new clip for "Healin’ Spirit", directed by Matthew Douglas Taylor and shot and edited by Jacky Paterson, You Beauty attempt to take on Normcore at the cricket. Although to be honest they don’t come anywhere near perfecting this insidious trend. For most people, walking around wearing dad jeans and carrying a plastic shopping bag is a recipe for looking super shit and bumming everyone out. But You Beauty prove if your band is good enough, and your lead singer charismatic enough, it’s impossible to not look cool. What a bunch of loosers.

The band—made up of members of Absolute Boys, Home Travel, and Mere Women—released their debut album Jersey Flegg this year. If you like pub rock operas about a 90s NRL legends facing up to failure you’re in for a treat, and it’s available to stream for free so there’s no reason not to check it out.

Or download the album from You Beauty's Soundcloud or Bandcamp.
