PREMIERE: Stream Tunji Ige's "The Ex Song," His Follow-Up to "Day2Day"

The 19-year-old rapper from the Philly area is back with a new song about being better than your stupid ex.

We’ve been on Philly rapper Tunji Ige since his “Day2Day” remix hit, which featured Noisey faves Michael Christmas and iLoveMakonnen and was basically the only song I listened to during the month of August. Now, the rapper, who’s 19 and a sophomore at West Chester University just outside of Philadelphia, is back with another track, “The Ex-Song.” The song comes from his upcoming record, The Love Project—which we’re, call us crazy here, assuming to be about love.

The refrain of “The Ex-Song” is pretty basic: the lyrics focus on the acts of ballin’ out, poppin’ bottles, fuckin’ bitches, and gettin’ money. But where this track truly shines is in the production, which was done by Tunji himself. The simple and catchiness of it feels like we’re lost somewhere in the year 2009, in the space between 808s & Heartbreak and So Far Gone.

Anyway, enough with what this sounds like. The bottom line is that love is hell. Remember why your ex sucks. It's fall now, so take Tunji’s advice and cuff someone new with your charm. Stream “The Ex-Song” below.
