PREMIERE: Laurice Is Back With 'G.A.Y.D.A.R.' And He’s Not Holding Back

WARNING: Do not play track three “Fantasy Man” in polite company.

Laurice will forever be known for his early 70s pre-punk/glam that included “When Christine Comes Around/I'm Gonna Smash Your Face In", the 1973 cult punk classic he co-wrote/performed with Simon Godd under the name Grudge.

But in 2016 Laurice is back. He’s still totally gay and not afraid to hold back on his new album G.A.Y.D.A.R. which is available Feb 26 through Mighty Mouth Music.

Opening with the Euro disco like “Brokeback Mountain”, the album is essentailly an international sexual calling card. The lyrics and sexual heat on "Big Boy" and "Hot Malibu Nights" will make the most liberated blush while "Fantasy Man" makes Hunx and His Punx sound like Creed.

It would be wrong to toss the album off as a horny and camp novelty record. “Fly” and “Gaydar” draw attention to the sexual longing of the older gay man and some of the tracks have simple but electronic and industrial production.

But Lauice even manages to sprinkle a whole lot of gay on the Archies 1969 straight bubblegum hit “Sugar Sugar”. When he sings “pour that sugar on me honey” the song essentially becomes a Mardi Gras float.

'G.A.Y.D.A.R.' is available Feb 26 through Mighty Mouth Music.
