Catch a Ray of Summer Warmth With Team Dynamite’s ‘Tonight’s Ego’

Taken from the New Zealanders upcoming album the song has chilled beats but a high UV count.

It's been a while since New Zealand has heard from its three happy day hip-hop darlings Team Dynamite.

Lucky Lance, Tony Tz, and Haz Beats have been hard at work on their follow up to their debut album Shepherd's Delight but today slipped us a sneak peek with the release of "Tonight's Ego".

A slight departure from Shepherd's Delight, the track starts with a slower delivery from MC Lucky Lance and a dance-ready four-to-the-floor instrumental from producer/DJ Haz Beats.

It may have more of a summery feel to it than what New Zealand is currently experiencing, but, if you can’t feel the suns rays, the next best thing is to listen to some warm summer beats.

Haz Beats chats about the new track.

Noisey: The cover features a disco balled Godzilla and Princess Diana. Was this the visual stimulation for the album?
Haz: The pic is something knocked together specifically for “Tonight’s Ego” rather than a representation of the album. The Godzilla with the disco ball head represents the monstrous sized ego's out there in the social scene making the less confidant feel even smaller (Godzilla/citizens of Tokyo) when they could be using their position in a more productive manner (Princes Di)

Noisey: This is the first official release from the new album. How is it coming along?
Yeah, it’s been a while since we last dropped Shepherds Delight however many moons ago it was. This new project is pretty much done but we're just adding a few more songs to brighten up the whole album. Its taken us almost a year & a bit (maybe even more) just coz we didn't wanna rush anything and do things sort of properly like releasing a single.

Who is handling production on this track/the album? Your last release had a host of your Young gifted and broke cohorts…
I've pretty much produced the whole album and got the homie Frank Keys onboard to help fine things up & replay most samples we used. Im not too sure why we went with just me on production but I guess it takes us back to when we first started making music where I did all the production.

"Tonight's Ego" is available June 5.
