Devin Abrams Returns with the Big Beats of Pacific Heights

Abrams is back in a big way as he explores the deep, deep concept of eternal life on new track 'So Love'.

Shapeshifter founding member Devin Abrams has returned to his solo project, Pacific Heights for the first time in eight years. And he's returned in a big time personal way, as he explores the deep, deep concept of eternal life.

As you can guess, it goes to some expansive, eerie, goosebumpy places.

Recalling his EDM roots and built upon a base of real, honest instrumentation, Pacific Heights’ latest track “So Love” premiering on Noisey is both OG and progressive, a love letter to electronic music and an homage to Abrams' musical past. Opening with sampling from a rainstorm, overlaid with a haunting guitar riff that continues throughout, the track is incredibly well-produced. It was recorded over several countries and cities with vocals from Shaan Singh of the Drax Project and refined over the course of a year.

While daring to contemplate how/when/why we pass on, “So Love”s' beat also ensures it's no slouch on the dance floor and it doesn't take much to imagine sweaty bodies compressed and writhing to this. “So Love” will get heads turning and guitar students updating their repertoire.

Pacific Heights new album 'The Stillness' is available from May 27.
