Constant Mongrel’s New Video Features 'COPS' and a Claustrophobic Jam Room

Premiere video of Constant Mongrel's "New Shapes" is as lo-fi as the song is buzzy.

I’m pretty sure that’s footage from an episode of COPS at the beginning of Constant Mongrel’s new video for “New Shapes”.

Directed by Constant Mongrel’s Amy Hill with help from Al Montfort—who held camera while she played bass—the video is as lo-fi as the song is buzzy.

“New Shapes” is taken from their forthcoming 7" CMDCM on RIP Society records. Recorded by Tom Hardisty (Nun, Woollen Kits), the album explores themes like the architecture of Melbourne’s Adelphi Hotel, Russian constructivism, and Australia’s Catholic hierarchy. COPS and Catholics, in the end it’s just excellent dumb punk.

Constant Mongrel are playing our Melbourne Noisey Party with Reptiles and Repairs at Lounge on Thursday 15 May.

It’s free but you’ve got to RSVP, do that here.
