Ausmuteants Celebrate Guns and Fried Food on Their US Tour Video

To celebrate US highways and an upcoming album launch the band share a tour video.

Melbourne’s Ausmuteants recently toured the US where they dented heads with their wild synth punk. As well as an appearance at the mighty Goner Fest the four piece had the opportunity to play alongside some of their favourte bands including Lumpy and the Dumpers, Big Zit, the Rebel and hometown buddies Deaf Wish.

As a way to share some of the fun hijinx (and to promote their upcoming album launch!) they just sent through some footage of the tour. The video contains everything you would expect from a young Aussie band touring the United States for the first time; sleeping/drooling in the van, shooting ranges, Walmart, in store gigs and lots of fried food. But it also includes some more interesting scenes of what looks like Billy doing some parkour and Shaun clean and jerking an oversized pumpkin.

Now they are back in Melbourne they are ready to launch Order of Operation their new album which has been released on Aarght and Goner records.

The band’s Billy Gardener gave us a rundown of the tour highlights.

Noisey: What was the best city you visited?
Billy Gardener: This is a real tough one. If I had to narrow it down probably Memphis.

Best rider?
Detroit. We all got to order a meal from the pub menu as part of the rider and we were stoked. I think I had a chicken po boy.

Best band you played with?
I feel we were pretty lucky in this area because we got to play with heaps of sick bands. Top 3; Lumpy and the Dumpers, Big Zit, Giorgio Murderer.

Best midweek show?
Lumpy and the Dumpers on a Tuesday at a place called Melt in St Louis. Giorgio Murderer on a Wednesday in New Orleans at a cool old place called Saturn Bar. Both were extremely good.

Best meal/dinner?
There were so many good meals. Maybe deep fried mini chicken burritos in Texas with all the trimmings. I also had an avocado margarita with it. I can't remember what that place was called though.

Best band shirt?
Shaun's Ausmuteants porno shirt.

Best tour manager/driver?
Bruce Saltmarsh. What a king!

Ausmuteants launch "Order of Operations" in Melbourne on December 19 at the Tote with Deaf Wish, ORB and Karli White.
