Alden Penner's New Video Is The Calm You Need Today

Alden Penner's new track will sing you to sleep.

The holidays are stressful. You have to figure out how to afford to buy everyone in your life something that doesn't make you look like an asshole, you have to cover all of your shit at work so that you can actually take a few days of vacation, and figure out a way to get over your fear of flying (maybe that's just me, but whatever). Sometimes you have to be reminded to just chill the fuck out, and listen to something that silences all of the fire alarms going off in your brain. If you're anywhere near where I am at right now, then you should probably watch Alden Penner's new video for "Oh How The Day," premiering below.

Alden Penner (The Unicorns, Clues, Hidden Words) is a Canadian songwriter who probably has one of the most calming voices in the world. "Oh How The Day" is a cozy track from his upcoming EP, JUNE04, comprised of three demos recorded in 2004. This song makes you feel like you are being hugged by a giant wool blanket that was just removed from the foot of a fireplace. The video, produced and directed by Video Marsh’s Nic Brown, matches the music perfectly, with 16mm-esque shots of Penner sitting outside in the sun singing and feeling good.

Keep an eye out for Penner in 2015, because he's planning a series of upcoming UK tour dates, as well as a new single, featuring special guest Michael Cera.
