Finally, the CDC Acknowledges Zombies Before It's Too Late

Well, if you’re a firm believer in the walking dead like myself, you already know that May is Zombie Awareness Month. If not, then you may already be among the plodding, braindead masses, hellbent on devouring human flesh.

If you’re as prepared as the Center for Disease Control expects you to be, then you may have already checked out their own take on the ever-popular “Zombie Survival Guide” – i.e. the manifold texts that exist to address the mounting fear that one day very soon, the world will be overrun by ghouls.

Earlier this week, the CDC posted a whimsical and, at times, very in-depth guide to making it through a zombie apocalypse with all limbs intact. Their smartly penned and expertly researched campaign perhaps comes in response to the overwhelming appeal of zombies these days, but as pointed out on CNN yesterday by anchor Carol Costello, it might be in response to the supposed Rapture that’s predicted to occur on May 21st.

I’m left wondering whether the CDC is preparing for a full-blown undead rising, or simply just poking fun at a bunch of religious nuts. Either way, check out Preparedness 101: Zombie Apocalypse.
