Watch Fem Fel's Video For "Massive"

The darkness is real.

Fem Fel doesn't do light. He does darkness. At least this the case for "Massive," lifted from his newly released EP Left of Center (check out the premiere of his video above). The south London MC—whose flow is low and menacing—is here backed by hypnotic looped vocals, dubby whomps, and synths that steadily ratchet up the tension to a climax which hits in an explosion of pent energy not disimilar to The Prodigy during their "Firestarter"-era peak. Meanwhile this flickering, black and white video is the perfect visual accompaniment.

An affiliate of the likes of Giggs, Skepta, and Wretch 32, this EP, which is currently sitting pretty at the top of the iTunes hip-hop chart—marks an engaging, new leaf return for the artist whose debut LP, Eyes Closed, came out in 2011. Welcome back to the fold.
