PREMIERE: Library Voices Attend The Funeral of Their Youth In New Video "Oh Donna"

Remember when eating your favourite bowl of cereal was your only concern in the world?

Library Voices may be the unluckiest band in the world but if there is truly a god their fortunes will turn around with their great new single/video “Oh Donna.” Directed by Karri Bowman, the “Crimson and Clover”-cribbed LOVISH album cut follows the simpler times in life when eating cereal was the centre of every child’s universe. And how quickly we cast these small things aside and go on day trips with friends who are probably aren't the greatest—not that stealing liquor from a love interest is any better. Still, all innocence must come to an end and so too “ the funeral of youth.”

“My music video sensibilities are very much a product of 90s indie rock. Somewhere in my mother’s basement I’m sure there is still a box full of VHS tapes full of videos I dubbed off City Limits and Karri [Bowman] has made some really wonderful videos that capture that same spirit,” explains Library Voices’ Michael Dawson. “Her story is very different than the one I had imagined when working on the song with Brennan Ross (vocals, guitar) and I think, even a couple of years ago, we would have been hung up on that but it feels good to be in a position to trust outsiders ideas and vision. Plus let’s be real, no one needs to see our sad faces strumming guitars in another video every again.”
