New York’s CREEP continue their streak of releasing ominous haunting videos to compliment their dark goth-informed pop. “You” is their latest offering.Director Thalia Mavros takes the black and white noir clip deep into Ingmar Bergman territory with starkly contrasted stoic figures engaging directly with the camera or appearing in extended profile shots. Mavros also works in a nod to the psyche-scarring twins from Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining, an appropriate allusion as CREEP collaborated on “You” with Nina Sky, the vocal duo composed of twin sisters Nicole and Natalie Albino. Although the twins are better known for providing the hooks for supercharged reggaeton and R&B bangers, “You” recasts the sisters as hypnotic goth sirens.CREEP: You [ft.
