If we didn’t know any better, we’d believe Austrian artist Anja Plaschg, aka Soap&Skin, was a real life vampire. “Big Hand Nails Down” sounds like it could be on the soundtrack to a haunted house (a classy, glam one at that), with its deep, low piano notes and static effects. Matthew Herbert zombifies the track, giving it layers of vocal reverberation and a touch of gothic beautification that miraculously manages to make this track more uplifting.

Brodinski transforms Miike Snow‘s “The Wave,” off their recent LP Happy To You, taking it from Wyatt-classic to a club-ified banger that can’t help but get your body moving. In true Brodinski style, he cuts in stammering effects, grinding bass, and steady hand claps to hold the pacing.Emil & Friends: “Polish Girl” Neon Indian cover)All ties aside (because we did produce the music video), we’re kind of embarrassed to admit how many times we played Neon Indian’s “Polish Girl” on repeat when it came out last fall.
