Orlando, Florida's Golden Pelicans play a punk rock that often gets described as mean, sweaty, and hard hitting. There is usually mentions of booze, debauched behaviour and general rowdiness. They look like the kind of guys who fix your roof and swear like troopers and drink beer for days. Basically four guys in their mid- to late-thirties who on a Friday or Saturday night can get amongst it with the best.While there has been comparisons to Detroit rock and the raw Aussie sound of X and Power they're best described as Florida dive-bar-arena-rock.Featuring the artwork of Mac Blackout, the guy responsible for these amazing boomboxes, their third album, Disciples Of Blood is set to be released by Goner Records and it contains more of their signature spit and snarl.Listen to the track "Buck 380" and read a quick interview we did with frontman Erik Grincewicz.Noisey: What was your last show like?
Erik Grincewicz: We played the Summit in Columbus last weekend at the Cheap Heat Fest. Abe from the Manatees spit a mouth full of beer in my face while we were playing. For payback I guess after I dumped a beer on his head in New Orleans.What is your favourite city outside Orlando?
For me personally Seattle, Hamburg, or New Orleans.Is Buck 380 is an address?

I mean you could buy a sunbeam sandwich, or the debt of an alley cat.Your drummer Rich runs Total Punk, no slouches when it comes to punk rock labels, but is releasing a record on Goner like some kind of cosmic shit for a band like Golden Pelicans?
For sure, feel like a real lucky duck! I mean, all of us have a whole bunch of respect for Goner. Sometimes things go okay for these Golden Pelicans. Sometimes Abe spits beer in your face.Mac Blackout's art on the album is nuts. If you stare deeply into it long enough what happens?
You will probably start understanding things like negative and positive space, lines and dots. Mac is a killer, he is the best. Mac had so much shit on his plate when we asked him if he would do the art. He was still able finish it and it looks great. I freaked out when I saw the medusa on the back.
