Sylvester Stallone wishes he had a script this good for Rocky VI. A largely unknown, quietly spoken, school teacher from Queensland who took up boxing after he was bullied to the point of tears at high school vs one of the greatest pound for pound fighters of all-time who fought his way out of poverty to become the richest man in the Phillipines and a member of the senate. The Jeff Horn vs Manny Pacquiao fight at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane, on July 2nd, is being billed as the biggest fight in Australian boxing history. Here is everything there is to know about it.

A school teacher and unashamed homebody-nerd, Horn's short career has been defined by quantum leaps. In his second amateur fight, trainer Glenn Rushton tee'd up two fights for him on the one night, the second for a Queensland State Title. He won and now, after just three years as a professional boxer, has beaten ten top-15 ranked opponents.

The last 12 months in particular have been massive, beginning with a TKO victory over former-two-division world champion, 'The KO King,' Randall Bailey in April, 2016; a TKO win over German world number 10, Rico Mueller in October; and another TKO less than two months later over South African former IBO welterweight champion, Ali Funeka in the 6th. The win pushed Horn into second place on the WBO rankings, setting him for a shot at Pacquiao. Horn is a rare bird in boxing in that he comes from a good, middle-class family, has zero ego, doesn't talk shit, and is about as family friendly as you can get.

"Jeff Horn is the kind of young man who really enhances any sport. He's well spoken, looks good, comes from a good family and being a former schoolteacher is a well-educated young man. He's a real asset to the sport and a fight between Manny Pacquiao and Jeff Horn is something that is great for boxing," Pacquiao's promoter, Bob Arum told Fox Sports.

Manny 'Pacman' Pacquaio (59-6-2)

Spent his early years living in a cardboard shack in the Phillipines, an infamously disaster-prone and impoverished nation of 93.9 million.

Boxing was a way out but it was a longtime before it started to pay. He received USD$20 for his first fight before accumulating a total of $USD500 million in a career that saw him become the first and only eight-division world champ in history with a total of 11-world-titles across eight divisions. His victims include Oscar De La Hoya, Erik Morales, and Ricky Hatton, among many, many others. He retired briefly in 2016 to concentrate on his political career, having won a seat in the Filipino senate, but returned a few months later to defeat Jesse Vargas (27-2).

Why did Pacquiao take the fight?

He tried not to. Pacquiao and his management orginally tried to tee up a fight with ageing British boxing legend, Amir Khan after running a twitter poll asking fans to vote on his next opponent. Khan finished first with 48% and Horn third. The bout with Khan had to be abandoned, however, due to a scheduling clash with the Islamic holy month of Ramadan in which many muslims choose to fast from sun up till sundown. As the second ranked WBO boxer, Horn is the next challenger for Pacquiao's belt.

Where Horn Will Win It:

The practitioner of what trainer Glenn Rushton calls the 'Broken Rhythm Pressure' style, Horn will be taking the fight to Pacquiao.

"I developed the style many years ago," explained Rushton, 59, to The Australian.

"It's built on chaos theory. I'm coming at you but you don't know what I'm going to throw and you'll never know what I'm gonna throw."

"There is a rhythm to it. You just can't work it out. You won't know it because, in fact, I don't even know it. I'm just programmed to do so many things, programmed to adjust. The art of deception. Completely unpredictable but there's a pattern there. A drop of water in a lake," he told them in this killer profile.

Where Pacquiao Will Win It:

One of the greatest boxers of all-time with no real weaknesses apart from his age. Pacquiao's record and endless honour roll of victims doesn't lie. He is a force of nature. He is the hurricane created by the butterfly flapping its wings on the other side of the world. Floyd Mayweather describes his style thus:

"He basically sets a trap. He sets traps for other fighters to where he can load up all of his arsenal and use different angles to win on fighters."

"He throws the awkward left, a straight left hand, leans and throws it, and bobbing and weaving, bobbing and weaving, keep pressure, keep pressure. When he gets the guy, he goes crazy drilling him, drilling him. And the guy opens, Pacquiao throws the one shot and then he catches the guy. And that's what he do."

What the Horn Camp Says:

"I keep picturing myself winning. I keep picturing my style upsetting him throughout the fight. And I can see myself landing those big punches. And I think that's what is going to happen," Horn said during a press conference following the announcement of the fight.

"I am (ready to trade punches). If that's what I have to do, if that's what works, I'll stand and trade with Manny Pacquiao. I'm a pressure fighter, high-tempo from the word go.

"I'm going to showcase my skills against a guy that's an absolute champion. If he's not ready, I'm going to look 10 times better against him. Manny will be at the next level. But on my home ground, I'm going to have a big advantage."

What The Pacquiao Camp Says:

As mentioned, they were looking to secure the big money fight Amir Khan and had to settle for Horn. Pacman's are expecting a walk over.

"We signed it, so yeah, we're excited about it. But again, my preference was to fight Amir Khan. That didn't work out. We had this on the table so we decided to take it. Manny will train and do the best he can and hopefully we get the fight over with very quickly, we get out of there, we say hi to the Australian fans and media and come home," Pacquiao's manager, Koncz said.
