Get Ready for the VICE House Party in Sheffield with This Selection of Steel City Classics

A ten track pre-party playlist that is hotter than Yorkshire tea.

Ah, Sheffield. The Steel City. Home of Jarvis Cocker, Phil Oakey, and Nick Clegg. The birthplace of Yorkshire Bleeps and bassline house, and the only city in the UK — to our knowledge at least — to hire a bouncer for a branch of Greggs. A truly marvellous place and no mistake.

So it's not surprising that the head honchos at VICE have decided to take the normally-London-based House Party round the country for a series of events that are set to be nothing but fantastic. This weekend sees visits to both Sheffield (tonight) and it's West Yorkshire neighbour Leeds (on Saturday night).

As always, it's a free party so if you're in the city and of legal age, there's literally no excuse not to head down to Bungalows & Bears for a night of pint-fuelled debauchery. Sadly the THUMP DJs won't be in attendance but we're pretty sure our pals over at Noisey will do us proud.

The city's got a longstanding reputation for being one that loves clubbing. Without Sheffield there's no Warp Records, no Niche, no Gatecrasher or Leadmill. To celebrate that, and to get you psyched for the night, we've put together a playlist of ultimate Steel City classics. Not everything on here is directly from Sheffield, but it wouldn't exist without it.

See you tonight!
