Exclusive Listen: Koreless Remixes Mogwai

It's Glasgow vs Glasgow as Koreless remixes Mogwai

I don't know what they put in the water in Glasgow but the amount of musical talent that comes out of that City puts the rest of the UK to shame. Here we've got a blend of new and old with an exclusive stream of Koreless, one of the more recent musical talents to emerge, remixing the ever-atmospheric Mogwai. Koreless continues in the same vein as his most recent works, stripping away any conventional percussion and creating a soundscape rises and crashes from the depths of the original. It's perhaps a tad disorientating on the first listen, but it works.

The original track "Blues Hour" is taken from Mogwai's forthcoming album Rave Tapes, being released on the 20th January in all formats by Rock Action in the UK and Sub Pop in the States. You can pre-order the new album directly from the Mogwai store, either as a digital release, CD or on Vinyl here. You can also see both live in London on the 24th January, when Koreless will be supporting Mogwai at the Royal Festival Hall, but in the meantime content yourself with this exclusive stream.
