Sasha Siem's "See Through" Makes Us Own Our Femininity

The British-Norwegian singer-songwriter's new video is kind of like an iTunes visualizer on steroids.

I remember the first time I discovered Regina Spektor. It was around the same time I asked for a record player for Christmas and tried to make my own clothes and hung a lot of wooden shit on my walls that I found on the street. While listening to her, I immediately became the star of the movie that was my own life. I would walk around listening to these songs picturing myself as a woman with feelings and opinions that were quirky. She gave me the strength to walk around in a cute dress and OWN MY FEMININITY. This is an extended version of me basically saying that I got bangs. It's been a while since I have re-visited Ms. Spektor, because I have now graduated my angst and have moved on to British-Norwegian singer-songwriter, Sasha Siem. Siem has been playing music since the young age of five. Homegirl went to Cambridge, Harvard, and won a prestigious British Composer Award in 2010. Her new video for her single "See Through" is filled with iTunes visualizer-esque projections on steroids, Dirty Dancing vibes, and has hints of Regina Spektor all around.
