Pictureplane and Sole’s new monthly music series, 187 Ultra, will cast an extremely wide net when booking talent. The series will be an eclectic mixture of electronic and experimental acts drawn from both local and national sources. The monthly event will be at Hi-Dive in Denver.Co-hosted by hometown favorites Sole and Pictureplane (with help from John Wagner and Egadz), the series will be programmed with a differeny monthly line-up. The name, 187 Ultra, is a reference to MK Ultra, the notorious 1960s mind control experiments sponsored by the CIA. Chosen less for its brainwashing connotations than for the group’s desire for a bold, aggressive aesthetic, the monthly series is slated to begin June 16. Sole and Pictureplane will bring the local Rocky Mountain High flavor while Egadz and K-The-I??? will remind people why the West Coast is the best coast.RSVP at their Facebook page.
