Premiere: Watch a Battle Against Mother Nature In Animalia's Video for “Space Penetration 2000”

If you’ve ever thought about starting a tree fight club, this video should help you figure things out.

Animalia is the solo work of Australian born, Toronto native Jill Krasnicki, an emotive songstress whose haunted sounds often trigger Fever Ray’s blistering dark pop, right down to those icy, alluring vocals.

Her latest album Mouth Full Of Teeth sees Krasnicki constantly shift from lush atmospherics to pulsating synth pop, a journey still unfolding in the visuals for the song “Space Penetration 2000”. The video starts as an actress begins a morning routine of stretches, long stares and smoothies, eventually leaving the apartment to begin her day. Sporting an all-white lycra bodysuit, she roams the streets in search of new ways to connect with the outside world, a spiritual quest that goes nowhere pretty fast. Her frustration leads to an Autumn smackdown, as our heroine attacks a tall tree, still desperately trying to have an effect on objects she can’t connect with. If you’ve ever thought about starting a tree fight club, this video should help you figure things out.

Animalia is scheduled to perform in Toronto at Long Winter this Friday, December 12th at The Great Hall.
