KINOSAURUS IS THROWING A SHORT FILM FESTIVAL OF SHORT FILMS

You bored with what's to offer on Netflix and cable TV yet? Well, if you're in Jakarta this weekend, then you're in luck. Kinosaurus, the best place to see repertory films, is showcasing five short films from up-and-coming Indonesian directors at their space down in Kemang, South Jakarta. Catch "Ruah," by Makbul Mubarak, the winner of the "best film" award at the 2017 Film Festival Indonesia, and "Prenjak," by Wregas Banuteja, a short that took home an award at Cannes. The others, which are also great, include work by Yusuf Radjamuda, Yandi Laurens, and Loeloe Hendra. So just stop asking "why aren't there any good Indonesian films?" and go see this compilation, because great stuff is out there, as long as you know where to look. —Ardyan M. Erlangga
