Hardcore's strange and turbulent history has made "–core" the go-to suffix for every music journalist who wants to cram a couple words together and pretend it's a new genre. There's nightcore and normcore and slowcore and sadcore, but New Hampshire-based hardcore band Youth Funeral makes the case that the only –core worth caring about is the original. The band is putting out a new record, See You When I See You, next week on Twelve Gauge Records. It's a devastating, pummeling album that sounds like screamo legends Saetia and Orchid. Instead of smashing that worn-out Saetia tape into your mom's Volvo for the thousandth time, plug this in and reinvigorate your faith in the genre. Check out an exclusive stream of "Weak But Warm" below:

See You When I See You is out 1/27 on Twelve Gauge Records. Charlie Ambler is going dark on Twitter.
