You Should Listen to Palehound's "I Get Clean"

Remember when life was simple and you could sit in your room for an entire day, burning candles, and listening to music, while scribbling furiously in your diary about romantic devastation ("Why is Lucie dating Oli when she knows I've been in love with him for at least 2.5 months?") and other pressing matters? Well Palehound makes us think of that time. There's a 90s minor-chord moroseness to this song that appeals to the existentially angsty teen within us all. Which makes sense because Palehound, AKA Ellen Kempner, is 19-year-old and intones with just the right amount of moodiness: "I'm starting my own continent." We feel you girl.

This song was lifted from her forthcoming Bent Nail EP, which will be released digitally and on cassette (how apropos) on Exploding in Sound on October 22.
