Why Did Wiz Khalifa Suddenly Stop Tweeting About Turkey Burgers in 2010?

How did Wiz go from turkey burger heaven to turkey burger radio silence? We investigate.

Wiz Khalifa is an enigma. He may also be the skinniest person in music. How does he keep that frame? Until 2010, the answer was simple: Turkey burgers. It started out simply enough. Wiz was hungry. And he was hungry for one specific food, according to Twitter:

Looking for a turkey burger to cure these hunger pains…

— We Dem Boyz (@wizkhalifa) August 22, 2009

Once he'd had one turkey burger, well, he kind of liked the idea of it. It seemed like something he might keep eating:

Pretty soon, Wiz Khalifa, according to his Twitter, fucking loved turkey burgers. Throughout the spring of 2010, he was all about turkey burgers. A sampling of his obsession:

turkey burger heaven

turkey burger'd out at tha moment…

— We Dem Boyz (@wizkhalifa) April 6, 2010

turkey burger'd out

— We Dem Boyz (@wizkhalifa) May 12, 2010

In one prophetic moment, he contemplated a lifetime of loving turkey burgers with his buddy Will:

me eat'n a turkey burger : "u ever think we'll get tired of these"??? will : "no"

— We Dem Boyz (@wizkhalifa) May 28, 2010

It seemed like Wiz Khalifa was destined to just keep loving the hell out of turkey burgers:

turkey burger'd tha fugg out at tha moment

— We Dem Boyz (@wizkhalifa) August 12, 2010

another life saved by a turkey burger

— We Dem Boyz (@wizkhalifa) September 29, 2010

Then? Radio silence. Nothing. Something changed. A lone Instagram of a turkey burger would appear in 2013, but Wiz Khalifa's turkey burger obsession was over. What happened? Why did Wiz Khalifa stop tweeting about turkey burgers? Did he get sick of them? Alas, the hubris of his May 28 tweet! Did he simply decide he had better things to tweet about? Or, was there more to that final tweet than we first assumed? Some theories:

1. When Wiz tweeted that another life was saved by a turkey burger, he was alluding to a longstanding curse that had hovered over him for more than a year, in which his life force was diminishing and could only be sustained by eating a predetermined number of turkey burgers. When he reached that threshold, his life was saved.

2. Wiz's life wasn't saved by a turkey burger, but rather he watched, in horror, as a car nearly ran down a pedestrian. Fortunately, someone had dropped a turkey burger in the street, and the bump as the car ran the burger over alerted the driver and caused him to swerve just in time. But the sight of the horribly mangled burger and its heroism made it difficult for Wiz to stomach eating any more of these beloved sandwiches.

3. Wiz was about to eat a poisoned burger, but, at the last minute, he decided to have a turkey burger instead. When he discovered how close he had come to death, he decided to abstain from eating altogether for the foreseeable future, thereby avoiding poisoning and honing the skinny physique he is known for today.

4. Wiz knew that he would never make as great a tweet about turkey burgers, so he quit while he was ahead.

What is the real truth? We may never know. We've reached out to Wiz for comment, and we'll update if we hear anything. In the meantime, we'll be in turkey burger heaven, thinking about turkey burgers.

Kyle Kramer makes a pretty good turkey burger, actually. He's on Twitter - @KyleKramer
