At Last! Wet Return with New Track "Deadwater"

It's been nine months but we finally have something new!

It's been over nine months since we heard anything new from hotly-hyped trio Wet. It's not that they've been lazy, or been finding themselves in Bali. No, they've been laying down the songs for their new debut LP, Don't You, which is now completed and scheduled to drop before the year is out (via Columbia).

Above is their new song "Deadwater" which Noisey's Kyle Kramer described as a "slapper." If read with British eyes this would mean Wet's song was a total slut. I think it's more mellow than a slapper, or indeed more tasteful and romantic than a promiscuous so-and-so, because let's face it, singer Kelly Zutrau has always been interested in picking apart the intricacies of intimate relations. This song is classic Wet: parsed back, but plush, with the music allowing Zutrau's elastic, emotive tones to stand illuminated.

Ultimately this song is about letting go when something's really not right, which is—every, single, time—easier said than done.
