Watch Zula's Video for "Twin Loss"

DIY goodness.

Zula's

"Twin Loss" dropped a few months back—a sparse patchwork of of skittish beats, lo-fi guitars, and Thom York-ian incantations—and we were into it. Now we're stoked to premiere these visuals which are 100% DIY and totally complement the song's rangy feel. It also makes us want to jack it all in and go on a road trip RIGHT NOW.

Built on the songwriting partnership of Henry and Nate Terepka, Nate had this to say about the video's creation: "A few years ago I started compiling video footage of lines being traced from right to left. I liked the effect of cutting between disparate lines when oriented in a consistent place on the visual field. For me, the footage has a meditative yet propulsive energy, which I thought suited the mood and groove of "Twin Loss." I sang the song while being chased by a reversing rental car one late night in Hawaii."

Danger: critical to creation.

The Brooklyn quartet's debut LP, This Hopeful, is out now on Inflated Records.
