Watch This PBS Mini-Doc on Minneapolis Punk Band, Kitten Forever

Kitten Forever forever.

The other day, we were flipping through Minneapolis public television (JK this is 2015 and we have the internet mainlined into our bloodstream!) and we caught this half-hour doc about the local band Kitten Forever and sort of fell in love with them.

Kitten Forever is a three-piece that only employs a bass and drums as instruments, passing them around among members. But they turn the bass fuzz way up and pound the shit out of the cymbals and to close your eyes, you’d think you were listening to ten lunatics running wild in a music store. Also, they use a telephone as a microphone. Don’t ask them about getting a guitarist, don’t ask about getting a real mic. They’re not interested. What they are interested in talking about however is the riot grrrl movement that influenced them to do what they do (and picking up where it left off), or Beyoncé as a feminist artist, or how maybe using Avril Lavigne isn’t the best example to use when describing your punk band. Anyway, check out the doc above. Kitten Forever forever.
