PREMIERE: Valery Gore Takes Us on a Road Trip With "Hummingbird"

It's pretty sweet.

It’s pretty fucking beautiful seeing the world through Valery Gore’s eyes. It's impossible not to relate to her exploration of the human condition, nostalgia, love and loss. She takes on those subjects with a sweetness and a strange allure that brings to mind St. Vincent and Au Rivoir Simone. In "Hummingbird," her sung-spoken vocals are layered, jangly and paired with instrumentals that resemble the sound of rain or banging on a tin can. The effect is disorienting, a feeling that's mirrored in the song's video, premiering below.

Shot through a vintage filter, the video follows the director's girlfriend on a wandering roadtrip, which will make you want to instantly book a vacation. It will be interesting to see where Valery goes on her next journey.
