Richmond, VA is home to a dizzying array of quality metal and punk bands, and just keeps pumping them out. Unsacred is the latest addition to the Forcefield Records stable, joining success stories like Yautja, Windhand, Inter Arma, and Bastard Sapling. After forming in 2011 and releasing three well-received EPs, the three dudes in Unsacred are ready to take things to the next level with their debut full-length, False Light. This is sharp, imposing black metal with crusty punk edges, as indebted to the Scandinavian masters as it is to its USBM peers Ash Borer and Barghest, and especially on tracks like "Erode" and "Sun," you just know that the fingers behind that furious tremolo have sewed on a Skitsystem patch or two.

Listen to False Light in its entirety, and start rearranging your year-end list:

False Light is out 12/9 via Forcefield Records.
