PREMIERE: Savor the Last Days of Summer with Tone of Arc's "Hunter Doe"

The standalone single arrives ahead of their set at this weekend's Symbiosis Gathering in Oakdale, California.

San Francisco's Tone of Arc have a way of milking the timelessness from every genre they touch. Summer singles "The Best Place to Fall" and "Chant No. 1," for example, sound like they equally could've been made anytime in the last 40 years or transported across space-time from some funky dance floor in the future.

It's fitting, then, that the pair is set to play this weekend's Symbiosis Gathering in Oakdale, California, a four-day festival on a lush reservoir peninsula that includes workshops (featuring the likes of Saul Williams), installations, self-decribed "shenanigans" and a lineup of artists that includes Nicolas Jaar, Tune-Yards, Griz, Kaytranada, Four Tet, Sylvan Esso and more. It's basically what happens when hippies get hip.

To celebrate the event's tenth anniversary, Tone of Arc has released standalone single "Hunter Doe," a dreamy, dub-infused track originally created in 2014 to be performed with the London Electronic Orchestra. The vibe is distinct from the more uptempo material on their forthcoming LP Urgent Turquoise, out October 23 on Om Records, but it's perfect for getting your groove on while basking in the mid-September heat.

The tenth annual Symbiosis Gathering runs September 17-20. Check out the lineup and get more info and tickets here.
