The first time I saw the name TOAD all I could thing of was a 70s-influenced, jammy post-Sabbath worship band who spent way too much on weed and even more on their “vintage” outfits. Holy shit was I wrong.
In fact, TOAD is short for take over and destroy, a badass acronym if there ever was one, and their new LP Vacant Face calls upon many different styles including black metal, doom, death metal, and much more across it’s running time. In fact, the only common factor across the length of this LP is an element of groove and a strong sense of melody. You should hear it (streaming below in full) and then get your own, dummy.
