The holy trifecta of lady friends in our head showed up in the news this week, which is kind of like an early Christmas gift for anyone who admires these girls from afar on Instagram. Other than that, there’s been some drama, but some cool things happening too, so it balances out. As we get ready for the holidays to kick in, check out what happened in the fashion and music worlds this past week.

Nicki Minaj Is The New Face Of Roberto Cavalli

Nicki Minaj has had an ass-kicking week on all fronts. Her third studio album The Pinkprint dropped this week, and she made her rounds emoting all over the media from New York’s Power 105 with Angie Martinez to the CRWN series with Elliott Wilson, discussing her life, her music, and everything else we want to know about the Nation Of Pinkslam leader. On top of all that, it was announced that Barbz will be the face of Roberto Cavalli’s Spring 2015 line. “I chose Nicki Minaj because she embodies the exuberant and modern femininity of the Cavalli woman,” Roberto Cavalli told Women’s Wear Daily. The photos surfaced with Nicki rocking a mini-beehive ‘do in some classy yet elaborate Cavalli garbs—looking like an updated Priscilla Presley on her wedding day in one flick and then the head of a boardroom in the next. Grab the fashion mags with Nicki’s bod in Cavalli starting in January.

Rihanna Is Puma’s New Creative Director

It looks like Rihanna got herself a day job. Okay, not really, but RiRi was just named the Creative Director at Puma. Starting in January, she’ll begin her position with Puma’s fitness and training line. She was already flown into the Puma headquarters this past week to pick colors and fabrics, gearing up extra early for the 2015 season. Rih will not only help design apparel, but sneakers too, and will assist in some classic Puma but reinvent the wheel a little too with some new styles. When she’s not designing with Puma, Rihanna will also be their global brand ambassador. It seems a little strange that Rihanna will be working in clothing, considering she doesn’t wear a whole lot of it, but hey, maybe her Puma line will include some naked-inspired outfits. Is that even a thing? If it isn’t, Rihanna will make certainly it one. So basically, the Rihanna Navy will be draped in Puma from here on out.

Beyoncé Snatches Our Wigs…And Our Hearts In Short Film

Beyoncé just keeps giving us life like she always does. She reloaded her self-titled fifth studio album with a deluxe edition this year, but that wasn’t all. Bey dropped also off a short film titled Yours And Mine, where she got a little personal. The film—which clocks in at a little over eleven minutes—packs some powerful visuals to match Bey’s strong words. In one scene she’s wearing her now infamous “Miss Third Ward” sash, and she’s drowning. In another she’s blindfolded with black lace, and then we get some visual snips from her video for “Flawless.” Meanwhile, throughout there’s her monologue that tackles her realization of the meaning of feminism, along with her pursuit of happiness. Spoiler alert: Bey says only you can make you happy. If you watched her Life Is But A Dream documentary, then you know that Beyoncé can get introspective at times, but this little flick right here dug deep. You sure know how to cut to the core of us, Beysus.

Iggy Azalea Gets Threatened By Anonymous Over Azealia Banks Beef

Special msg for banks: There are many black artists succeeding in all genres. The reason you haven't is because of your piss poor attitude.

— IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) December 19, 2014

MESSAGE: @IGGYAZALEA, you have exactly 48 hours from now to release a statement apologizing to @AzealiaBanks and the protesters in NYC…

— TheAnonMessage (@TheAnonMessage) December 20, 2014

The Iggy Azalea/Azealia Banks Beef is back on. This week, Azealia Banks was on New York’s Hot 97, and commented once again on Iggy Azalea—alluding to Iggy appropriating Black music, and stating how she shouldn’t be labeled as rap at the Grammy’s, but pop. Iggy turned around on Twitter to reply, calling Banks a “bigot” and “poisonous,” as well as a “miserable human being.” Well, the hacking organization Anonymous got involved, and threatened to release an Iggy Azalea sex tape if Iggy didn’t apologize to Azealia Banks. They initially gave her 48 hours to apologize, but later stated they wouldn’t be releasing anything salacious after all. Womp womp. Anonymous has better things to do anyway, as they’ve been pretty vocal about the recent injustice in Ferguson with Mike Brown, as well as with New York’s Eric Garner. Meanwhile, Azealia Banks got into it with Action Bronson over Twitter regarding the same race issue in rap Banks had attacked Iggy about. The whole thing erupted, names were called, and even Q-Tip got involved and started coming for Iggy with regard to hip-hop history. Whaaaat? See, this is why famous people can’t have nice things like Twitter. They pop off and then delete most of the evidence so we can’t go back and shake our heads. Q-Tip kept his tweets up, though, but most of the Bronson/Banks beef is gone. Boo.

Kathy Iandoli wishes you a Merry Christmas. She’s on Twitter.
