The Wait Is Over: TDE's Jay Rock Has Released a New Song Called "Money Trees Deuce," and It's Confirmed Fire

Begging the question: When are we getting that album?!

Most people know Jay Rock from his barely cooler than a flamethrower verse on Kendrick Lamar's "Money Trees." It's a 10/10 feature, with the Top Dawg Entertainment member covertly slinking in to add to the inferno and retreating again, leaving the listener warmed in the wake. It's that real fire. For the #heads, though, Jay Rock's career sits up there with the likes of Jai Paul, Jay Electronica, and Dre's long awaited Detox, as one of the most thirstily awaited outputs in existence. Since signing with TDE in 2005, he's released just one album, 2011's Follow Me Home. There have been a few tracks since then of course, like "Parental Advisory," the Dr Dre-produced bonus track from Follow Me Home "Nothin' Change," and various features, including a stellar performane on the remix to label mate Isaiah Rashad's "Shot You Down." But still: no details about the new album. It's got fans starving.

Today though there's brief respite in the form of new track "Money Trees Deuce." Take a listen below:

Obviously you knew shit was gonna be fire before you opened the link. The weight attached to Jay Rock's name is confirmation. However it's worth being reminded that Jay Rock's flow is unparralleled—he coasts on the beat like the Ferrari Formula One team smoothly navigate their practice runs before accelerating into the championship race. Which is exactly how that song should be treated. Jay Rock season is almost here, and when he starts speeding, y'all better fix up.
