The Shivas Make Surf Rock Creepy as Hell

Surf-rock is supposed to be about smoking weed on the beach, not getting your brains eaten.

There are certain things that are inherently creepy… like burning baby dolls, or brain eating, or sacrificial scenes around a fire. There are also certain things that are inherently happy—like upbeat surf-pop and garage rock. Somehow, Portland-based five-some, The Shivas, have found a way to blend all of these things into a perfect five-minute video featuring two songs, "You Know What to Do," and "Do the Crocodile." Who knew that hazy, surf-rock could be such a perfect soundtrack to a horror scene?

The two songs are from The Shivas' fourth LP, You Know What to Do, which released October 28 via K Records (and on cassette via Burger Records).

Tour Dates:
October 31: Bainbridge Island, WA @ Mushrooms and Airplanes House
November 8: Portland, OR @ Bunk Bar (record release show)
November 15: Seattle, WA @ Washington Hall - Short Run Beach Party (w/ La Luz)
