Listen to The Doppelgangaz's "Holla x2" and Learn About the Black Cloak Lifestyle

The first single off "Peace Kehd."

In February 2014, The Doppelgangaz will be releasing their fourth studio album, Peace Kehd, which supposedly explores the "duality" of the black cloak lifestyle. I've heard them talk about the lifestyle a lot—they have been in the game since 2008—but I asked the duo of Matter ov Fact and EP about it again because it tends to be a bit subjective.

Here's what they told me: "The black cloak lifestyle represents the DIY approach and being as self contained as possible. It's based on survivalist and/or homeless tactics, ensuring that no matter what is given, you will make the most of it. The cloaks in themselves represent unity. It doesn't matter what you look like, what you have on (maybe you're a dude wearing women's undergarments) or how old you are. Drape yourself in that cloak, sweg the fux out and spread that Doppel Gospel, mami."

So, in order to spread the Doppel Gospel, we're premiering the first single from Peace Kehd, the duo's first official release since HARK, called "Holla x2." With some hypnotizing warped synths, and off kilter, gloomy production, the single will get you more familiar with the duo and the black cloak lifestyle below:
