The Black Ryder's New Video for "Seventh Moon" is Bleak and Beautifully Trippy

The Black Ryder tends to swirl together breathy post-rock crescendos, plaintive shoegaze melodies, and psychedelic sprawl to create a greater, sprawling whole. The LA-based Australian duo (comprised of former couple Aimée Nash & Scott Von Ryper) does so to great effect on its latest record, The Door Behind the Door. Due out February 24th on the band members' own label, The Anti-Machine Machine, and The Orchard, the album follows the pair's smashingly successful debut, Buy the Ticket, Take the Ride (Mexican Summer, 2010).

We've got an exclusive premiere of the video for "Seventh Moon" right here; the band refers to the video as a short film instead of a music video, and it certainly does boast a moody cinematic feel and quite a lot more finesse than your usual "band in a garage" clip. Watch it here:

The Door Behind the Door is out 2/24 on The Anti-Machine Machine/The Orchard. Preorder the album here.
