Tashaki Miyaki's Video For "Cool Runnings" Floats by Like a Dream

It's more 'Virgin Suicides' than John Candy vibes.

Given that this LA-based trio style themselves in a 70s fashion with patterned-corduroy-and-fur-panache it makes sense that their new video—premiering above—looks like The Virgin Suicides-meets-Big Love set in Joshua Tree. Once again they team up with director Juan Iglesias, whose timeless black and white visuals always provide a fitting complement to TM's gauzy, dream-pop sweetness. You can check out all their videos together here, or better still, head to Church on York in LA on March 21 where the band will be playing a show and screening their collaborative work with the director in one wonderful evening.

Lyrically "Cool Runnings" explores singer Lucy's skittish nature, her preponderance for self-sabotage. "In some form or another I act like it's cool and then run away," she explains. Pretty much as far away from anything to do with the Jamaican bobsled team as you can get.
