Style Rider: Moon Taxi Brings the Basics For Coachella

All you need to be cool in the cut.

Coachella season is officially here, and today, prog-rockers Moon Taxi will take the stage at the California festival to show off their jam skills. The Southern indie band—comprised of Trevor Terndrup, Tommy Putnam, Spencer Thomson, Tyler Ritter, and Wes Bailey—released their latest record Daybreaker last fall. The band is known for sing-along songs and catchy, jam-worthy interludes—something they’ll be bringing to the stage both weekends at Coachella.

Vocalist Trevor Terndrup filled us in on a few of the items he needs while he’s performing at the Indio fest.

BOOTS

These Mark McNairy boots are wild. I debuted them on Late Night with Seth Meyers and got a great reaction. Before Coachella I will have to scuff up the bottoms a little more because I almost busted my ass on national television wearing them.

HOODIE

In case it gets cold at night, or in case we forget to bring our disco balls, I'm not going to Coachella without my Betabrand hoodie.

GUITAR

I'll be playing my new Fender doublecut Telecaster. This is a truly unique six string. I love the classic tele vibe with the symmetry of a double cutaway. It's like Springsteen with an undercut.
