It’s hard not to be captivated by Jillian Hervey’s gorgeous mane and empowering vocals—the daughter of Vanessa Williams comes equipped with a ton of talent. As one half of the New York R&B duo LION BABE, she brings an intense presence to the stage alongside partner in crime Lucas Goodman, also known as ASTRO RAW. LION BABE has gained a ton of traction this year for the singles “Wonder Woman” and “Jump Hi” with Childish Gambino. The duo released a self-titled EP last year, and there’s reportedly a full length due in early 2016. Later this month they’ll be playing in LA and the UK. The pair shows love for everything retro through their style, glitter, and big hair. Both Hervey and Goodman have a love for shoes, great beats, and essential hair products. We caught up with LION BABE to see what everyone needs to stay fresh on tour.JILLIAN HERVEY: "An entrance is key. I love incorporating kimonos into our opening moment. The deep sleeves, silk and color give dynamic to my arm movements. I love an outfit journey."JILLIAN + LUCAS GOODMAN: "Gotta check yourself before you wreck yourself. Phone charger to make sure your phone doesn't die from all the friends and family asking you to text them the address. Deodorant because shows have so far ended up 100% hot and you have to stay fresh. And hair spray to keep my mane voluminous.”JILLIAN: Preferably just as much as pictured. Our makeup artist Yuui Vision always does the best looks. We have been lucky to work with a bunch of amazing glam people though.LUCAS: These are two of my main pieces of gear for the live shows. I can play all sort of sounds off my laptop with this. They’re also great for making beats on the road.JILLIAN: They have quickly become a statement piece for LION BABE! I love the height and vibe. It helps me channel my inner spice girl, mixed with a super hero and some funk. I’m working to get every color of the rainbow.LUCAS: They’re good for festivals, travel and avoiding beer on the ground. Being from NYC, boots work year round.
