Watch Eighties Glam Metal Band Stryper Win Over Super Conservative Aussie Reverend Fred Nile

Stryper: killing the conservatives with kindness.

You may be familiar with the Reverend Fred Nile as the anti-Muslim, anti-progressive, openly homophobic leader of the Christian Democratic Party, and an all all-round gross guy. He’s also against head banging.

That's why it's nice to see him so eloquently taken-down on his own turf in this archival interview pitting him against Christian glam metal band Stryper.

Taped during Stryper's 1989 tour of Australia, the interview was in response to Nile's comments referring to the band as “effeminate” and of using “gimmickry with God.” Over the course of 10 minutes Stryper patiently and methodically rebut every one of Nile's claims against them, building up to a hilariously awkward conclusion in which he reluctantly agrees to attend their Sydney concert.

By the end even the entirely over-65s crowd are like putty in Stryper's hands.
