Surfacing from Brooklyn’s cruddy underworld, Alien Whale has washed up ashore to gush total mind fuckery out of its blowhole, naturally devised by a DIY titan threesome culled from such ape-shit acts as avant-rappers Talibam!, spazzcore proggers The USAisaMonster and experimental bangers Necking. Keys splatterer Matt Mottel and strings wizard Colin Langenus brought the house down together with Funkadelic-assed grooves in CSC Funk Band but now the two have converged yet again, this time with buddy Nick Lesley for the epically toasted jammage of Alien Whale.

We plucked out the amazingly titled, ten-minute marathon “Anointus Venomous Atlanticus,” from the Whale’s debut EP and this outer spaceoid monolith drips gloriously of classic rock meets psych-sludge acid trips and enough godhead solo rippage to make J Mascis blush.
