Maybe that happened to you today. If so, enjoy even more music. Here’s what some of the Noisey editors are listening to this week.

Rozwell Kid - “Hummus Vacuum”

Aren't we all just Hummus Vacuums?

Miguel - "The Valley"

Eric and Kyle spent all of July 4 weekend listening to the new Miguel record and told me that I should do the same. I assumed they did this because they were high on mushrooms and couldn't find the stereo in order to change the record, but no, they assured me—it was because Wildheart is really, really great. So today, on the subway on the way back from interviewing Lianne La Havas in the city, I put it on. Three tracks in and "The Valley" comes on like woah. Are you kidding me with this shit right now? Sexier than anything The Weeknd ever penned in the early days. This is so perfectly explicit I found myself blushing in the subway car in spite of the air conditioning. Hear those oscillating synths? Your thighs'll be quivering just like that. Panty-dropping-perfection. I'm gonna keep pressing repeat, I don't even care about the rest of the album.

Tiwa Savage feat. Don Jazzy - "Eminado"

The author Teju Cole made an awesome mix for Okayafrica, and he also wrote a really wonderful essay about the allure of the Lagos nightlife, which had me wanting to book the next flight to Lagos and leave my entire life in the US behind. Instead, I just listened to this song on repeat like 50 times. I could listen to it forever. It is a perfect song. It will make you feel like the happiest person in the world.

Groove Theory - "Tell Me"

I didn't listen to near as much new music this week as I normally do partly because I have been actively trying (and failing) to stump Apple Music. Turns out it's a touch tricky, unless you're looking for rap mixtapes there, which, why would you be doing that? I did listen to the new album by the Internet a ton this week, and it reminded me of the old album by Groove Theory a ton, and ever since it dawned on me, I haven't been able to get "Tell Me" out of my head. It's classic '90s soul masquerading as classic '80s soul, and the pairing suits my interests perfectly. Also, how come I just noticed there's a bit of Mary Jane Girls "All Night Long" in the bassline? I'm losing my edge.

Kehlani – “You Should Be Here”

Last week I got the chance to hang out with Kehlani during her time in Toronto. She was chill and down to earth and all those other things that people say about celebrities they like, but I didn't expect her live show to move me the way it did. The Oakland singer/rapper/dancer was able to not only pack a venue, but her fans almost drowned her vocals out with their cheerleading. Kehlani is one of those special artists that is able to write songs that feel familiar after a single play through thanks to lyrics that stick to your ribs with their catchiness. It's a talent that note all singers have, and certainly not all 20-year-olds.

Sick Sad World – “Orange Lazarus”

Can you have a crush on a song? Is that a thing? Because I cannot stop listening to this same cut of scuzzy surf-pop by Sick Sad World. Fuzzed-out, stoner love songs always make me melt, but something about this one is particularly affecting. It's self-conscious yet confessional, like you caught someone reading your diary but are secretly relieved that they did. Oh, shit. Wait. Give me that back, please.
