Listen, we're gonna be honest with you. This is where we usually talk about all the good music we've been listening to this week. But we have a big-ass anniversary party to go to in a few hours and we're just sitting here talking about all the selfies we're gonna take with Lil Wayne. So like, here's our music or whatever. Thanks for understanding. Noisey loves you.Eric Sundermann, Managing Editor
Eric on Noisey | Eric on TwitterHaving grown up on a healthy diet of punk and hardcore, I’ll say that there are elements of it that you gradually give up as you get older. Being a grown ass man, I no longer feel the need to spike my hair and dye it green anymore, for example. I don’t need to wear a chain wallet or cover my entire sweatshirt in band patches. So you’d think hating the police would be one of those things that would grow to seem childish as well. But as long as cops continue to murder unarmed citizens with absolutely no consequences, hating the police will be one of those quirky punk “things” that never goes out of style.Dan Ozzi, Editor
Dan on Noisey | Dan on TwitterFreedom is a weird concept that most people take for granted. It's like that story about the fish who was asked what the temperature of the water is like, to which the fish replied "what's water?" Most people aren't aware that freedom exists until they don't get to experience it anymore, or until it affects them on a personal level. On July 11th, Meek Mill's freedom was temporarily put on hold as he was sentenced to six months in prison. Since that time, Meek has missed out on a lot of things, like the nationwide obsession with the Serial podcast, Taylor Swift becoming New York's official delegate, and most importantly, his September 9th release date for his second studio album, Dreams Worth More Than Money. So let's remember the passion with which Meek was rapping before being sent away, when he recorded this YouTube video of him fooling around in the studio.Slava Pastuk, Noisey Canada editorSlava on Noisey I Slava on Twitter
Frank Ocean - "Memrise"
Frank Ocean released a new song last week. You have probably listened to it, so I'm currently failing at my job of providing you with dope new music you haven't heard, but then again, I don't care because I've listened to this song like 700 times this week and I'm still trying to understand its beauty. Frank Ocean will probably be one of those artists who releases a legendary record like every 10 years, so we gotta appreciate it whenever we can.
