Snowmine's "Tidal Wave" Clobbers You with Love

Watch the video, wear some wool.

Last week we premiered Nightbox's excellent club-ready remix of Snowmine's "Colombus," which was awesome because it was five million miles away from the original. Not that we don't like the original Snowmine sound, we like them very much because they're gents who understand the power of tenderness. Only real men can make music with guitars that communicates the feeling of being clobbered by love, but like, without making us want to barf. It's a fine line.

Not that they talked to us about love. They let their music do all that. Instead, the band had this to say: "After two years of nonstop touring, we were ready to make something that sounded more like our live show. We recorded boatloads of big percussion sounds and synths. As compared to our last album, it turned out a bit more daylight doing, and a bit less nighttime dreaming."

We can get with that.

Check out the video for their new song "Tidal Wave" above: They shot it on tour and we recommend wearing a wool sweater while watching. Or just let the sounds wash over you (see what we did there?) below.

Snowmine play Austin City Limits Festival on 10/4.
