Publicist's Live Rendition of "Slave" Is Dark Disco Dungeon Music

Totally inappropriate for the AM—which means you should dive straight in.

Publicist

. This dude is not fucking about. His posture is perfection. His shades are keeping the world out. His cymbal is tiny. His chain is heavier than most dogs in Manhattan (although I guess that's not saying much considering NYC has a rat-dog epidemic).

Born in Argentina, Sebastian Thomson is a founding member of Trans Am, but as Publicist he creates fantastically cool electro, awash with synths and studded with sick beats. Sometimes there's an Italo-disco vibe to his grooves, which I totally dig, but in this live reworking of "Slave," recorded at the Moog Sound Lab at Moogfest, Publicist is digging deep. He's on a hypnotic house tip and his pitchshifted vocals sounds decidedly devilish (that's courtesy of a vocal processor and a Minifooger Delay for a slap-back effect). The fact that this is totally inappropriate morning music makes it all the more awesome to listen to first thing. Publicist Tour Dates
